Ingredients
- 3-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, pounded to 1/2 inch thickness and chopped into 1 inch pieces
- 1/3 cup corn starch
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 white or yellow onion, chopped
Sauce
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (may sub white vinegar)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion salt*
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions
First prepare the sauce. Add sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion salt and ketchup to medium size saucepan. Turn over and boil the mixture. In a small bowl, squeeze a tablespoon of cornstarch and cold water until it melts. Add to the frying pan and stir until thick and then on low heat.
Add chicken and corn starch to a large zipper bag. Seal and shake to cover the chicken. Sprinkle a large pan or pan with oil. Add the coated chicken. Bake for 5 minutes on medium heat. Add sweet peppers and onions. Continue cooking on medium heat until the chicken is cooked and cooked.
Add the sauce to chicken and paprika. Turn well for coat. Serve with cooked rice if desired.
