Spice Cake
It is easy to make a delicious Spice Cake. All you need to do is take some raisins, sugar, water, butter, cinnamon and cloves and bring them to a boil. Once they’re cooled you’ll preheat the oven to 350° F and while it’s heating mix together flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Take the eggs and mix them with the spice mixture and then add the flour mixture in three batches. In a prepared and greased baking pan pour in the batter and bake for 55 minutes or when an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool and then make the glaze with powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla and drizzle over it. It is a most moist and delicious spice cake.
Easiest One-Pot Beef with Broccoli
When you don’t have the time to do a lot of cooking you can make the most delicious beef and broccoli all in one pot. Just take a medium bowl and mix together some soy sauce, chicken stock, honey, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, sesame oil, cornstarch, Sriracha (hot chili sauce), ginger, red pepper flakes, and ¼ cup water. Take a large skillet and heat up some olive oil over medium heat and add thinly sliced flank steak and brown for about 3 – 4 minutes. After stir in broccoli cut up in florets and add the soy sauce mixture. Cook until tender and slightly thickened and serve right away.
Peach Dump Cake
Everyone enjoys a delicious Peach Dump Cake that is also easy to make. Just preheat your oven to 350° F. Take two cans of peaches and pour them into a baking dish. Over the top you’ll spread the batter of a yellow cake mix. Spread it evenly over the peaches and press down firmly. Then arrange butter slices evenly over the top. Bake for 50 – 60 minutes until the top is deep golden brown and bubbly. Serve this cake warm.
Black Bean-Stuffed Sweet Potatoes
Just preheat you oven to 350° F and take large sweet potatoes and place them on a baking tray and bake for about 55 -65 minutes or until a fork can be easily inserted into the potatoes. Mix together the cashew cream sauce, lime juice, and black pepper and put them aside. If you don’t prefer to use the cashew cream sauce you can use sour cream or plain Greek yogurt. While the sweet potatoes still have about ten minutes of cooking time left take a diced red onion and sauté it in a pan along with spices until the onion is translucent. Then add black beans to the skillet and heat through with the onion and set aside. After the sweet potatoes are done and have cooled some cut them open and mash the inside flesh with a fork so that it will be easy to scoop out. Take your black bean mixture, chopped avocado, and cilantro and spread into each sweet potato and top with cashew cream sauce. Serve right away.
Hibachi Soup
Make a delicious Hibachi Soup by taking a large 8-quart stock pot and placing it over medium heat. Add some olive oil and place onions, garlic, carrots, and ginger into the pot. Sear the veggies on all side to caramelize and be sure not to burn the garlic. Pour in chicken broth and beef broth and water. Bring to a boil and lower heat to simmer for one hour. Afterward with a skimmer remove the veggies and adjust for salt. When serving pour the hot broth into bowls and sprinkle with chopped scallions and sliced mushrooms.
Bowties and Broccoli
Take bowtie pasta and boil it until it is al dente. Add frozen broccoli florets to the boiling pasta water, turn off the heat and let it sit for 1 – 2 minutes until the broccoli is crisp tender. Then drain the pasta and broccoli in a colander. Put them back into a bowl and add butter. Toss until the butter has melted and coated both the pasta and broccoli. Then add Parmesan, salt, freshly cracked pepper, and red pepper flakes and toss again. Taste and adjust seasoning and serve right away.
